After 15 years of searching for this, the oldest version of Lion oil's 42 inch black sign is finally home in my care. Friend, and fellow old gasser, Allen Brown, from Grenada, Ms found this bad boy in the deep woods of Kosciusko, Ms. We believe this sign orginally hung at a station there in the late 20's early 30's. Allen called me yesterday after sending me the photo on my I-phone and almost making me have a wreck. I got home, got money and headed south. We made the deal, and I got home with the captured Lion late last night. Below is a picture with my new granson, Christopher Elijah Huffman, (Eli), and my son Dalton. I am on cloud nine with my two latest editions, one to the family and one to the collection. Thanks again to Allen Brown, the best picker around as far as I am concerned, who found the sign I have been looking for all these years in about 2 weeks time!!!! Keep in mind that this is a very rare and early sign. Thanks again Allen!!! Enjoy the photo....

Congrats on the double whammy!
Absolutely great sign. You should be proud. But that little Eli is going to change your life. Couldn't get any better.

As the others have said. Congrats on the two great looking additions to your "collection", Roger.

Right now they are both worth their "weight in gold". And as all collector's know, they will grow even more valuable in the years to come.

one thing about this "newbie" is that he is learning and listens to the advice of the "veteran" collectors. He will become a very successful "picker" in a short time...you da man "downtown" allen brown. He made some good buys at the Mississippi bottle and advertising show a few weeks ago and found stuff that I missed....after many months of PM's, phone calls, emails, it was a pleasure to finally meet you and your lovely wife in person....Another thing is he is always respectfull, listens to advice, and ask good questions. this young man is now buying smart and is building up a base of customers and collectors..and starting to build a nice little collection of his own of quality stuff...OBTW, Miss Susan says hello.

Not to hi-jack this thread, but since Allen did an outstanding job finding the sign for Roger and after reading Paddy's praise of Allen. It will be smart of me to send a list of what I collect to Allen so he can keep an eye out for me, as well.

Roger is top notch I have been dealing with him for a few years now. Everytime a deal does take place both the buyer and the seller are both very happy when its all said and done.

I did not intend for my post to sound as an attack, It was posted in fun because of all the attention Newbies have been getting lately. No disrespect intended Roger or Allen
