I did some trading with Koolmotor George here in North Dakota and was able to get this old KOOLMOTOR sign! This is the large 3 foot by 5 foot version with the wood frame in the back! I had to mount some boards up high by the overhead door openers, to find enough room for it, but it worked out well and displays nicely! Its starting to look really Cities Servicey in the shop now---THATS GOOD!

Here are my latest Mobil buys. The Socony Lubrite 2 gallon was one of the better examples I've seen. I thought the Mobilheat binder was a neat addition. I've got it filled with my S-V annual reports from 1943-1955. The Campbell Oil Company Mobil map was the first example I've ever seen of this map, and I was happy to be able to add it to my collection.
Have a good one,
Darin

Here's my latest buy. A Swedish Gargoyle, SSP, flat and appr 24 inches. They were normally mounted in pair, screwed together and hung off a forged bar in chains.
I believe they were used from the late 20s and through the 30s.

ALL antiques there that are For Sale have been brought in from Elsewhere.
Last time I was there, there were a few parts pumps around the area but NONE were For Sale. They're comments were "they are part of the draw that people come here to see".
IF you ever want to drive a Crooked Road, take Old 66 from Oatman to Kingman.

Got these two signs this past weekend at the Michigan auction that was discussed elsewhere here on Oldgas. Prices were pretty high on a number of items, but I got both of these for about $250, including the buyer's premium......so like always there were some bargains.

I got these last weekend before work. Found them at an antique store accross the street. What makes them special to me is that they are from the Council Bluffs Drive-in which was the first drive-in that I had ever went to and they closed down a few years ago and were torn down so fast that I did not even get a chance to try to get anything from there. Was really neat to be able to find these again and who knows maybe it is the speaker that I used when I was there.

Tokheim--That is such a neat pump! You'll have to keep us posted on it, whatever you do with it! I think I'd just clean it up really nice and display it as is! A little buffing and polishing will make that thing shine! Nice purchase! I'm jealous!

...VERY nice pump, but as it's an older 'restoration' that's been in the weather, I'd redo it...the letters are a lot different on the original and they're gold...very striking...I've seen one of these that was new in the crate, looked just like the one in Jack's book...

Just a few things this week, I have been wanting one of these DX cans, but they are always pricy, not this one...

I bought some original add glass, some NOS, here is a mobilgas in my pump, with my repro globe. Some day will get an original globe... I need an original pump plate though!

Tokheim,
That's a super cool pump! I'm with Kevin on leaving it as is, with some clean up. You can always restore it, but you can never make it original again. Post some photo's when you get it done no matter which way you go!

You may have seen my value post, but here it is after I made a frame for it.

Its in great shape, It has to be NOS, as it has a few creases, but looks like it was never used.

confused...uh...guys, if it were all original in that condition, of course I wouldn't suggest repainting it, I'd clean it up like Kevin suggested...but it's NOT all original...someone repainted the lettering by hand...the lettering goes all the way down the side (see the two small holes on either side of the 'E' in 'GASOLINE'? Looking at the picture in Jack Sim's first gas pump book, page 109, it looks like those are for an ID tag, which isn't there)...now, that image is of a Bowser 99, and it looks like Tokheim's pump is a 97 - but it seems likely that Bowser would have used the same water transfer for both pumps, and the ID tag would have been in the same place on both pumps...

...I was wrong on the color of the lettering, it's white and not gold...but it's been repainted...Thornton Beroth has one of these in his museum, that's all original (still mounted on the original shipping pallet!), it's either a 99 or a 97...the lettering on that one is all original and 'still there' to the point where it could be used to make replacements...

Here is Ford gas gauge stick I just picked up. My question has anybody heard of....CAMPECO Aviation Gasoline? It does not have location on it.

It says Atwater Kent Gasoline Measure.
