Apparently it was windy last weekend because this is what I came home to after a long ski weekend! I make sure my globes are well tightened - especially outdoors. This globe body had a small bend in it when I got it, so I straightened it and made it an outdoor globe. The metal must have been weak at the bottom of the body to begin with (especially after straightening it) and the wind slowly made it bend more and more until it became oval shaped and slide right out past one of the 3 bolts holding it in. I guess you live and learn.

Doc, I'm not very worldly but Long Island hasn't been farm country since....before the pilgrims...LOL I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT ANYTHING ON THE EAST END IS ABOUT 50% FARM COUNTRY. THAT'S VINEYARDS, PRODUCE, HORSES, NURSERIES (WHICH SURROUND MY HOUSE), ETC.....ALL OPEN LAND W/O ANY WIND BUFFERS ANYWHERE. 80% OF THE TIME THE WIND COMES FROM THE NORTH MORE THAN 50% OF THE AVG WEEK. LOL! MOST OF THE FARMLAND IS PRESERVED.

It was 15 inch reproduction. That pump will be moving to the front of the barn if I get the barn completed this year.

That's either a really flimsy body, or someone "helped" it fall. Were there any foot prints on top of that railing?
Wanted: Gas pump globes:Sinclair & affiliates, IL companies. Ripple bodies. Anything Sinclair, Stoll, Pierce, 4 Bros. http://www.lastgas15.com/

There is something wrong with that body - I can bend it with my fingers and I can't do that with any of the other 30 globe bodies that I have. Lessoned learned for sure.
