Welcome to the forum, RD!
It's looking like it could have been anything. I'll let you guys know if I run across anything when I go to the library. Hopefully they'll have a decent photo archive.
I'll also post a pic of the neat old dealership in FATW.
Thanks, Wes

The Solvang Garage was the local Chevrolet dealer in Solvang, California. This picture is circa 1927. Seaside paid for the sign and got top billing, but there were at least 3 other brands of gasoline on the island including Richfield and Red Crown Standard. Eventually Texaco persuaded them to become a one brand station until the dealership was sold. The seller retained the Texaco franchise and the new owners converted to Richfield. Accross the street the Ford dealership was an exclusive Shell dealer.

Victory Motors here in town sold Chevrolet, Olsmobile, cadillac, and Chevrolet Trucks.
And they sold HOME gasoline..
So I am sure the ONLY RIGHT answer here is HOME GASOLINE!!!
They had the coolest red Cameo pickup with boards on the sides of the box that said Victory Motors that still ran around town in the early 70,s....
