Only 2 hours away from me but I'll bet they'll be lined up out into the next county for that one and if past experience has taught me one thing, that many people = crazy prices!

I will be there before the auction starts to do a couple absentee bids, my wife has her company banquet that evening and she is being recogonized for 20 yrs service. If I don't want to sleep with my pumps I better not stay. Brady

Only 2956 miles from me. LOL Nice lot of pumps but I went to one like this in 1997 and thought I would make a killing. Over two hundred pumps and 4 miles from my house. Every collector in the state of CA showed up and the pumps went for crazy money. Wayne 60's in 97 for $1100. Beat to hell 5 ' Hancock for $2600. I only got 3 pumps from that auction and they were beat. Good luck.

I spent the night at this auction on Thrusday. Never let it be said that there is no money out there! The auction had 30 gas pumps in fair to poor condition. Smithway 48's brought $250-300. Tokheim 36B was around $900.00, if I remember correctly? A tall Tokheim 39 sold at $2400.00. The Bennett clock face 150's went for $1500.00 and up. The Wayne 866 Atlantic was taken home for only $3900.00. All were UNRESTORED...beat up and rough! There was only one Eco wall mount airmeter. It brought nearly $800.00? I might be a bit off on this recollection, as I got out of the bidding at $425.00? I was talking to a friend and was only picking up slightly on the bids....They were over the top, nontheless. There was no buyer's premium so these were the hammer prices. Still makes you wonder doesn't it? Paul www.severngaspumps.com

Paul I was there also and you are right, big $ and the pumps were mostly not complete and/or rusted out/beat up.
36B I have $1025 written down.
Tok 300 $400
G&B T8 $600
Bennett 371 $1100 top rusted out
541 $1300 ea x 2
Bennett 646 $800

If "you get what you pay for" that was the nicest tall 39 I've ever seen" (not)

I left before the air meter. For some reason I liked that aluminum Pepsi cooler in the back but had to hit the road, did you catch how much it went for?
I did get a decent Tokheim nozzle for $12, my only purchase.
Thanks

I couldn't believe the prices these went for either. I thought I might leave there with at least one of the pumps but I guess there were those who wanted them more than I did.

After the tall 39 went for $2400 I had to walk over and look at it again to see what I must have missed about it, all you can say is good luck with your purchases.

I thought the eco went for $675. The shoo-fly pie was good though.

Work on taxes or go to auction. 10 am. spontaneous decision, drove four hours to the auction.
Prices were crazy on most items. Some deals mixed in as always. Some items I had seen before in near by antique shops. They sold higher at this auction then what was being asked in the shops.

I bought some junk pump parts and two of the pumps. The Bennett 150 for $1250, not 1500 and it had the meter, thow not shown in the pictures and a Wayne 276 needing to be put back together. Missing some parts that I have at home. Paid $250.00 I thought I did ok.

The Wayne 866 for $3900 and the Tokheim 39 tall for $2375 was insane. The rest of the pumps, what ever it's an auction.

9 pm get a hotel room and go antiquing all day Friday or go home and have the muffler replaced that fell off somewere on the four hour drive ? Got home at 1 am , trucks in the shop and I'm on a chat line. Should be doing Taxes !!! Life's Good

Mark, The base was cracked. No lower door. Some of the interior plumbing looked to be gone? Personally, I thought that at $600.00 it was high? As for the Eco.....it might have been less....but it was still overpriced as far as I could see??? Paul www.severngaspumps.com

The T8 had a crack in the base. I just wanted the light tower off it. Did not buy it.

...thanks guys - with those flaws, $600 does sound a little stout...I was worried I missed something, but it sounds like I didn't...

I couldn't stay for the auction, I gave Chris Bowers a couple bids but I didn't get any or the Bennett 76's that I wanted. I do know of one fantastic bargin at the beginning of the auction that Chris got that made my trip worthwhile just watching him get. Well I did get one bargain, a piece of pecan pie. Brady
