when i pulled the pump apart,this thing was on the corner,not hooked up to anything.the new corner also had one.what is it?i thought it was part of the light switch but now know its not(thanks barry).it has a spring on the inside,so if you pull it out it pulls back in when you let go.

Hook it up to totalizer shutter, so you don't have to open pump door to read.

Mick, here is a picture of my original M&S 70 showing where the "mystery knob" hooks inside to the totalizer shutter. Hope this helps.

Not sure what happened to the size of this picture above but you get the idea where the chain hooks on.
