This is at a local auction I am going to. I am told its a fake. Should be interesting what it will go for.
SO.... do you guys say anything when you see a fake sign, going for auction ??

oldgas member, roadrelics, explained that it is a fake. Said the real one is cobalt blue.

Yes you can tell all at the auction that it is fake till you are blue in the face, There will be some that won't believe you and still bid it up high, Just sit back and laugh. Ones like that deserve to get taken

...lettering at bottom edge is condensed, computer type...


Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

The sign below is in a great collection & they claim its an original.....it has the fat lettering & dark blue porcelain however i don't think its as dark as "alwayslooking" photo.........there area few different reproductions, most are not marked or dated & they vary in quality...

fyi the ford sign at the top, was about 12 tall x 30 and sold for 425
