Great Kevin, this is what it's all about! Two people that get along and are both pleased with the outcome of the deal. I think this is a great story and it gives me some hope in this world of people wanting to make the best "deals" without a thought of the orher part.
And, I am sure you will make a stunning restoration!

Thanks for all the wonderful comments from all of you! Best part of the whole deal was that I believe I made a pretty good friend out of the deal! The former owner called me today and told me how much he enjoyed the time we spent making the deal and wished me a lot of luck restoring it! He also said that he's going to make it a point to come here and view my collection and see for himself all of the things that I told him about! I really enjoyed listening to him and his stories of how it was back then and I think the two of us probably have a lot in common, even though he's 15 years older than I am!
This was a Texaco pump back in the day and I believe I'll probably restore it that way. He has some old pictures from 1934 when the station and the pump were new and he's going to have some copies made for me! Maybe I'll be able to restore it to exactly what it was when it was new! I hope so!!

Great story Kevin, I am sure that somewhere 150 miles from you that same man is telling somebody about how pleased he is was to sell to a fair and honest collector. Great find! Norm.

Great Pump and story, I've enjoyed many conversations with older station owners, sometimes more than the item I ended up buying.

I would love to see the faces on the low ballers when they drive by and see the pump gone.
