As a driver, it is one thing to see photos of a "test mule" on a test track, owned by a Major Car Company. But can you imagine driving down the highway and either being passed or passing a car all draped in canvas or cloth? (and being startled to the point of almost losing control) The curiosity of what is/was underneath the tarp would drive me crazy,............... okay crazier.

Thanks for the info Ed. I didn't even think about that as the reason.

The car that's covered is a late 50s Lincoln.

Is that last one foreign? Looks like the St. Louis arch and the pumps look domestic.

IMO it is a German brand (could have sold elseware I suppose), I have a link to a gas pump site in Germany and the DEA is spelled out Deutche Erdöl AG, wich means something like "German Earth Oil LTD".
Please check www.alte-tanksaeulen.de and you will find many nice pictures of Gilbarco-Schwelm pumps restored to DEA brand - and also lots of other nice pumps :-)

Very cool Claes, seems the European community can be just as "obsessed" with the hobby as we North American's!!

Anyone know if that 5th pic down from the top of this page 6 is from NYC? I swear it looks like where I park when I go into Manhattan 31st and Broadway!

That Firestone car...think it was a mechanic sent out to change peoples tires? Or an early Ad car?

Sadly none of the pics I have been getting have any info. The firestone car looks to belong to some "buffalo bill" type caracter! I love the lubication stall with the lights in the floor and the ladies sitting in lawn chairs watching!
