Good evening everyone. Got a question, I was sitting in my garage the other day looking at my signs, just like everyone else does... right?? I noticed something that made me go "hmm". Check out the flags between the Good and the Year. The one on the big cookie-cutter sign is tilted the opposite way of the one on the Battery cable sign. The one on my Sales and Service sign I got on the weekend is the same as the Cable sign too. The Cable sign is dated 1960, the Sales and Service sign is '56, I don't know the date on the big one. Anyone have any ideas why they are different??
Ken.

Ken:

I'll take a stab at it ? Just a guess though. "Different years of production and manufactures". I collect just Texaco/Havoline myself, so i don't claim to know goodyear.

If you take a basic Texaco fire-chief sign 12' X 18" which was produced between 1940-1965 you'll see all kinds of differences in the helmet. Details i'm talking about.

Perhaps the wind was blowing the other way?
