Did Signal oil become Sunoco? Is or wasn't Sunoco part of Shell? What became of Skelly?
Wasn't Exxon the parent company for Marathon?

I believe that Signal was a westcoast brand and that Sunoco is on the east coast, dont know, don't know, The OHIO Oil Co adopted the Marathon trademark when they bought Transcontinental Oil in 1930. Owned by US Steel today. Esso became Exxon when they needed to rebrand in 1972. (source: Standard oil the first 125 years, by Henderson /Benjamin)

Signal was a west coast brand and we used to have a couple of Signal stations right here in Olympia, Wash.
One of the old Signal stations in the 700 block of east 4th Ave is still standing in all it's art deco glory, but is now being used as an expresso stand.
