Hi guys,
I need some quick help on a sign I need to make an offer on in the next day or so. It's a two-sided cookie cutter neon. All neon tubes are broken, I'd rate the porcelain on both sides as a 7, the transformers and everything are still there....any thoughts???
Thanks in advance

What is the sign advertising? Hotel, restaurant, gas/oil, vacancy? All are of value but some more than others. If gas/oil......the brand is necessary in deciding. Also important is the size of the sign.

Are you talking about a Pegasus? 5 to 7 grand possibly.

Sorry guys,
It's not advertising anything...just the porcelain pegasus on both sides in neon...it's about 4' high and 5' acrossed...I believe this size of sign is commonly referred to as the "cookie cutter" sign??? Does this help???

Most refer to a "cookie cutter" as being 1 sided with a can on back.

yes, that's the same sign, only the one I'm looking has a middle portion (the part that houses the transformers and seperates the two porcelain signs) that follows the complete outline of the horses - in other words, it's two of the red horses with a formed steel "box" sandwiched between them - not just a small portion in the middle like the one pictured - this one has the formed steel box between the extended legs, etc. But basically, yes, the same sign. The same people have owned it for 50 years...they tell me it was used as a promotional item at their parent's station. Any more ideas on value???? Next time out I'll snap a pic. so I can post it.

Buck up and pay(if it is decent)...2 grand would be cheap...

They probably dont kow what its worth unless it can be easily seen. If that is the case they have probably heard every offer..

Why are you rating it a 7..?? is it laying on the ground??

I rate it a 7 because of some random "rock shot" chips on both sides. Not too bad, but there are probably half a dozen on each side. Anybody have any idea how difficult it is to get the neon redone on something like this?? Is it cost prohibitive?

Make a fair offer,2000 grand would be stealing it.This sign is worth over 10000 if its all there and everything works in the rotating motor mechanism.Pretty sure one just sold on ebay for more than that. These are rare indeed and would be a find of the year.Dont **** them off with a chump offer, buck up and spend a few,you wont find another.

Thanks to everyone for their help on the sign...I settled on a price and went and picked it up today...what a job!! Turns-out it's a 6.5' by 5' sign and it's not the rotating version....just neon on both sides. I paid a little more then I can afford to keep it for, so I'm going to be selling it...I will put an ad in the appropriate 'for sale' section if anyone's interested....thanks again to everyone who helped with info.
