I attended Barrett-Jackson's Florida Auction last weekend and had a fantastic time. As usual a huge selection of cars (I guess over 400), normally I buy and sell at Scottsdale, but at Florida we just came to buy. Car prices were like a carnival ride but I did manage to get one bought. Each morning Barrett-Jackson runs memorabilia for a couple of hours as a warm up. In my seven years of coming to the Florida auction this was by far the best offering and prices reflected it. I did manage to acquire some really nice porcelain signs including a Packard and Studebaker-Erskine that I've been hunting. The Quincy sign sold for $6,900 (It was a killer sign but I dropped out at $4,000 because I didn't know what it was worth). Rumor has it they have three more of it's crate mates that are consigned for future auctions, so there's always tomorrow. Probably my favorite piece that I was lucky enough to get bought is an original 1957 Chevrolet Dayton Beaches billboard sign featuring a 57' racing across the beach (Very cool!) Also went after a cool hand built Ferrari Go-Kart for my grand child but after it passed 10 grand I got out, I think it ended up selling for over sixteen thousand. If you ever get a chance you should attend a Barrett-Jackson. I've attached some photos of their petro area as well as some other photos.
