There is a pretty good record of Gulf Rest Room signage going all the way back to the 1920s and although it looks like Gulf, I've never seen the sign or any indication of anything used other than the usual "Clean Rest Rooms" and "Sanitary Rest Rooms" signs that are pretty common. It is possible that it is from Pure, predating the "OK'd Rest Rooms" signs of the late 1940s. Where was the sign found? That may be an indication. Wayne Henderson

...it's marked 'A-M 4-56'...so it's 55 years old, maybe that will help...
...I doubt that it's generic...I got it at a swap meet several years ago (on the East Coast, thinking it was Gulf; I'm inclined to agree with Wayne, I've not seen it in any Gulf station photos...
...but, before I sell it, I want to know what it is...

Just thinking out loud...(can you do that on a computer?)Richfield of New York used Allen-Morrison Sign Co in Lynchburg for some signage (thats what A-M on a sign means), and finding it on the east coast also puts it in the Richfield realm; likewise there are not a great deal of Richfield photos from the late 1950s that would be likely to show this sign. Just thoughts, but how about it, any Richfield (NY) specialists? Wayne Henderson
