T-12 lamp. Still available at Lowes, Home Depot for a while yet. The ballasts on the lamp will be noisy but that is okay.

Hmmmm to me the bulbs look shorter than 4' which means 2 pins on each end. 5, 6 and 8' bulbs have single pins. Didn't think they would be that long. Do the bulbs have a Brand and ordering code on them at one end on the glass? That would tell you what size you need to get as replacements.

Also check the wiring to the ballasts if you can. How long did you leave it plugged in? Did any bulbs light up? or attempt to?

You'll need to go to a commercial electrical supply for sign ballasts. (or a sign supply place) Take what you have or write the numbers for correct replacements. Looks like there may three. Replace the lamps while your at it. If these are the originals they are probably junk. Are any leaking tar? That is a sure sign of a bad ballast.

I have several lighted signs and have never had any luck plugging them in and having them work. I don't think too many shop owners spent any money on maintaining them. Anymore the first thing I do is replace the bulbs and ballasts, if you go that route, replace with t8 stuff, uses less power and is still readily available.

Still looking for that Union 76 ball

The kid that works at the electric/lighting shop, where I take all my signs and clocks, said he would come out and fix it. I think I will have him come out. I think it will add value if its working !!
