well, when i first met peggy, she was a little down on her luck.someone had neglected her for a number of years

with help from some oldgas members,i decided to buy her,and bring her home.surprisingly, maria didnt get mad at my bringing another woman in the house.though her front legs were badly mangled from some kind of mishap, i still felt that she would someday be able to walk again.you all know the feeling of a diamond in the rough! well,i talked to fellow oldgasser, lowright, and aked him if he might try and do some magic on her legs and he agreed.he did a fantastic job!!then with help from others again,i got a good idea of what peggys legs should have actually looked like, and did a little resto work.

this weekend steven and i finally got her all ready, and hung her up in his room.(for those who are newer, steven is my 14 year old son) well heres the final outcome..i wish i could take a picture that would really do her justice. shes not perfect, but sure is doing well since coming home.and, steven cant wait to show his friends his new horse!! thanks to all who helped me out on this project, its what oldgas is all about!!

thanks all! doc,as far as hanging it ,turned out pretty easy.i didnt really want to trust toggles or the screw in type holders only.what i did was cut a piece of 2x2 to fit inside the body, under the three main hanging brackets.screwed this to the wall with large drywall screws,so when i put the horse up all three brackets would rest on it.then i drilled four holes in the body(thanks rick) and put toggles in to hold it against the wall!all the weight is on the 2x2.................. ok im just kidding about drilling the 4 holes thru the body.actually those 4 holes were already there, thats why peggy is chipped on the outer edges,by her neck, near the crotch of the wings(can i say that?)and near the front and back legs.it aint going nowhere.as you can see the front hoof and wingtip overlap the window trim, but thats something that just had to be.that or move the windows, and i didnt really want to do that!
