The name is Dave from Northern Nevada. I am a 24 year veteran of the Sheriff's office and am currently a patrol Sgt after spending most of my career as a Detective. I build Mopars, cudas, challengers ect. I currently have way too many projects but keep buying them. My recent attraction is to the Max Wedge era of the hobby. I also have 6 or so gas pumps, signs, ect. I have a 4200 sq ft shop and office for building cars, pumps, ect. I am into old juke boxes as well and have a home built 40s/50s style diner which is pictured below. I have 2 years and I will retire to Idaho on 175 acres I have up there. Hope its not too many pics but I am a hyper guy and it was late. Also pictured are some Exide 1957 signs I recently stumbled into. My main hobby are my three kids, the youngest of which is 13 and shes my best friend. Dave

You are right Dave, you have too many projects. Now as your oldgas friend I will help you out. I will bring a BIG trailer and get some of those nasty projects off your hands. I have your best interest at heart. Gotcha covered buddy. Is any of this working? LOL. Mike

Mike, I am n addict, addicted to anything I can restore myself. I like taking rusty c%^$ and making it beautiful again. Since I do all my own body and paint work, it helps. I also have this booth inside the shop. its nice. I spent the last three yewars building this shop myself with my now 16 year old son. I do like it here, I should hang out more often. and here is a link to my website, lots more junk here and many many moaprs if you like those. and these, just found them, [This message has been edited by LAWFISH (edited 12-28-2006).]

Hey Lawfish...If you don't feel like taking that "Cuda" to Idaho when you retire,I would certainly be interested in taking it off your move list! Might even be interested in one of those jukebox's too!!! Awesome diner!!! Kurt

Actually, that Cuda will be for sale very soon. Its become such a valuable car that I really cant afford to hang onto it and dont enjoy watching it sit in the shop.
As far as the stuff I have, I have found most very cheap. As far as the shops, I have built every square inch myself, which is the only way I can afford any of this stuff. I am actually going to start getting rid of some of the cars as they are too much work and concentrate on more gas pumps, ect as I can do them fairly fast compared to a whole car.

Hello ~ I am a newbie as well. Only have a few pieces in my (you can barely call a) collection including two empty 5 gal oil cans (One is Quaker State with a wood handle and the other is an Oilzum). I have a round metal emblem (about 2 ft diam.) that 'at one time' would have been bolted to a State Police Cruiser's door. Also got a "Sorry, Last Car in Line " red & white sign circa the mid 1970s Gas Crunch. And with your help it has been determined that the wood Red Flying Pegasus I have is an artist's rendition, but it may have been carved for a local mom & pop Mobil gas station.
So nothing super awesome, but my Great-Great Grandpa owned both a Standard Oil and a Red Crown Gas Station eons ago. Sorry to say I have nothing to show for it; but my Uncles might have something still tucked away in their garages.
Thanks to my Dad, I grew up around cars and as a kid I spent many an afternoon exploring in local junk yards...just wandering in awe…cars upon cars as far as the eye could see...
best regards; Karen Massachusetts

Willie55, Sounds like you might have a awesome collection started actually. Someday, even the Gas crunch sign will be highly valuable. And when your Uncles die, well just think of the possibilities of adding to your collection! ( Just joking of course) Welcome, and enjoy what you have!
