What do you all think of repop Script tops for the 80's? How do they compare to the real thing? Does the light inside shine through the fiberglass? Do they Melt?

they aren't the real thing that is for sure but they can be made to look good.i think the big thing is the side vents are closed. the light won't show through.i wouldn't use anything above 40 watts.the newer floresant type bulbs last longer and are alot cooler

We've reproduced the Mobilgas & Mobilgas Special. If you are going to use one, know that they obviously don't fit up as good as an original. But, if before you paint your pump, you will do a little die-grinding on the corners of the top part of the frame rails they will snug up very nicely. We just did a Mobilgas and used a 40 watt for our auction it looked very nice. Bottom line: an original will run you $500+, these are $275 with new inserts. You can take a plain 80 & turn into a killer piece.

I'm looking at the Sunoco Dynafuel from gas pump heaven. do these come ready to go out of the box, or do you have to drill them and do body work? Can the vents be cut out?
