Pie time. New total is $260.58. The guy is speechless. He said he was planning on throwing the items in the scrap pile.

I have talked to him about where other signs might have gone. (Farmers to build walls, etc) But most of his stuff he kept in the old bulk plant and it was broken into quite often. He thought it was kids at first. But after showing him some pictures/prices he thinks maybe it might have been "collectors".

Alex, I do believe that your new friend will now keep an eye out for old signs and the such. Maybe even become a collector. Does he have any friends who also ran gas stations in the past, if so maybe they know of some "treasures" buried away and forgotten. Enjoy that pie.

$329.97.

Bob. I talked to him and he said all of his old gas buddies have gone to the big gas station in the sky, but that he would put out some feelers. We talked for about a half an hour yesterday about all the stuff that went to the dump and pumps to farmers yards. He is looking for his records and may yield some leads on pumps.

Final total is $461.97. Thanks to all the oldgas folks who bid and said the kind things. I just called the gentleman and he said, and I quote...."Holy S#!)" You get the drift. What started out as a $10.00 deal turned into a whole lot more for his pocket. With all your generosity, I am paying the ebay fees. Thanks again all.

Good morning. Just wanted to let you know that I collected on my bet last night. No lobster, but a great chicken fried steak. The gentleman was still amazed (I paid him in $1.00 bills.) at the collecting craze of oil and gas and he asked me to say thanks to all of you who bid and bought. He hasn't found anything else, but he is making alist of farms that had gas pumps he delivered to. Oh Boy.....

Alex what goes around comes around, you'll end up with something special, even if it's not gas related. Did you ever get those pumps that were frozen in the ground from last winter. Don't forget about that 310 he had it's worth keeping an eye on. Richard
