I plan to make a new set of rods for my T176. Are they 3/8 or 5/16 and what is the total length and the threaded portion on each end?

Do most people use steel or brass?

Thanks for this and your help on previous questions.

I use 3/8" rods and always measure an original rod for correct fitting before I make any. Not all rods are the same length, obviously. Paul www.severngaspumps.com

My pump did not come with any rods and I was going to thread the new rods well before anything close to assembly but guess I will have to reconsider if the rods are of different lengths.

I believe one of the sites selling parts calls for a 5/16 x 27 1/4 if I recall correctly but I want to go with brass and prefer a 3/8 if they fit so thanks for the info.

Thanks

Trouble with Brass rods even with clear coating after they are polished, they will tarnish. Brass plating is a better way to go.
jm2c, been there done that.

Dick, do you mean you brass plate steel rods?

Also, if you use brass screws, bolts and nuts on the exterior do you use brass or do you also get them brass plated?
