Thanks for the heads up Tom (that's been posted here 3 weeks now). Will need some time to stuff the leather full of cabbage and get the ice chest ready with fizzy water.

And maybe find some signs to bring that elude the grasp of our esteemed colleague "pony tail Mike."

Matt, buy stuff from Ted with the "funny money", he won't notice the difference. Talked to grandpa (Fred) today. He's getting lots of calls & quite a few vendors have already signed up. More flyers were mailed today. If you need one, Pm me or call Fred (707)-291-1666.

I would hope so; without Pam & Ethyl (& Jason) I'm not sure we'd allow Ted on Fred's property. Now, if we could just get MarbleHead back in the fold.

Lee,
It's just a few more hours driving than IG was. In years past I have driven from Denver to home & Santa Rosa is 200 miles more than where I live from Salt Lake City.

It all depends on how you look at it, It's one of my favorite shows of the year,It is also the farthest to travel for me. I dont always sell well or buy well but one or the other is always good plus I usually deliver a restored pump to someone which makes the weekend for me. The friendships and contacts that I have made over the years cant be beat plus the dinner and viewing of Kenny's or Steve's collections cant be missed,Fred always has something new to see also overall as long as I'm above ground you will most likely see me there,It is always well attended by vendors from far and near..Dont miss it and come introduce yourself...Frank

We have averaged 70+ vendors for the last 3-4 years. Not all gas & oil, but mostly petro related. Come & see us, I think you'll have a good time & find plenty of stuff to haul home (I usually do!!)

Vendor list keeps growing, a "Who's who" of west coast vendors & buyers will be attending. Rumor has it that the "Glass Master/Sultan of Rare West Coast Globes" (aka Mike Slama) will be in attendance.

Last year there were 3 wall mounted ECO's there.

I am going there to buy, however I am selling some stuff to fund it. Check the Online Auctions, Ebay page for my items.

Yeah, its getting closer and my wallet is loosing weight instead of gaining. I made enough money selling truck parts on ebay to pay for a pump I bought. Now need to work on gas bash cash.

Just about a week to go. Can't wait. I'm not the only one who is excited. I found this drawing on my son's door along with "I love gas pumps" written on his September calendar. Hayden is almost 9 and can't wait! My 4 year old daughter Cheyenne thought we were leaving tomorrow night on Thursday and I told her it's one more week. She said I can't wait to go American Picking with you Daddy! Is brainwashing kids to like this stuff legal?

Only if I can presell something that would make the trip. Last time didn't work out. Going to list some items on Ebay on a short auction and so I can deliver if enough stuff. Have neons and visibles, but most people do not want stuff that is restored but just not painted. Will use my other truck this time and not rent a big one.

Got the camera, and its the same model but updated. Now I can't figure out how to make the pictures smaller. Got to go back to the camera shop and have them set it up for my computer again.

It hurts really really bad to not make it down there... a certain marblehead was over today and cleaned me out of what little disposable cash I had, but I now have a couple of new signs...real beauties. Anyway knock back a bullet or two for me and have a great meet and I'll see some of you in Monroe.

I should be on my way in 3 hours or so. I'm bringing a lot of signs, some globes and a few smalls.

It looks like we're going to have some nice weather...... mid 70's and partly sunny skies. Perfect !

Your sign sold.

I was the tall blond 40 year old guy taking all the photos first thing in the morning. By the time I came back around, it was sold. Congratulations. I did however buy this instead:

I will post my photos later. I have to go to sleep since I work midnights and need at least 2 hours of sleep. Other wise I will have been up 24 hours by the time I got home from work tomorrow morning.

it was great seeing and bullshitting with everyone.

Mike

Thank you for posting pics....the west coast shows look awesome! Okay....curiosity has gotten the best of me....in one of the pics at the show there is a shield sign that is yellow...green and white...it is displayed beside a california us highway 91 sign and below a phillips 66 embossed tin wood back frame motor oils sign. You can see the edge of the sign on page 5 of strnges pics.....I think its beside a ssp sign with a ship on it. Anyone know what it is?

@ Grabber, if memory serves, the yellow, green and white shield was an Oregon something, maybe 99 i think, possibly aluminum, i don't know the dealer or price.

Our esteemed colleague "agentsteel53" may have a line on North Carolina die cut route shields.

Red - Thanks for the heads up on the shield...Jake was kind enough to give me the scoop on it and he does keep an eye out for me on NC shield...most of the NC shields I have came from collectors out in Cali (crazy I know). Man what a great looking show...Just a few more thousand air miles and I have to roll out west...

With all of the extra people at my house this summer, I have not been paying any attention to my addiction. I didn't realize that I missed the Gas Bash again this year!!! But, as my husband pointed out, if we had gone to it then we would not have found our new Night Lubrication sign. Still..... Hope to see you next year!

What would be nice to have the TABLE INFO per SELLER. This way, one can contact the SELLER by PM/e-mail or PHONE. This would REDUCE BANDWIDTH significantly.

What do you think TOM?

So you are a real person Red. I never met you. We were sitting in the corner discussing who is this person. You should have said I'm Red. Class of 68 moved on to the coast but hijacking a slow internet connection. Ted who is generally RED. LOL

The Bowser 300 is mine. I bought it last year and had Frank Jones restore it. First time I have ever had someone else restore a pump for me. Frank is awesome as you can see by the results. Had a lot of fun at the bash. I talked so much my throat started to hurt. I took some pictures with my dad's camera. He will post them later. Thanks to Kenny Burgess, Fred Stokes, and Tom Stover for putting on such a great gas bash.

That pump is Gas Pump Rob's.

GP Rob's trailer is White, NOT a U-Haul! U-Haul trailer was used by Eldon.

Jason,

That is an amazing pump + restoration work. I saw the unrestored photo of it at last year's bash.
At first, I thought it was your Dad's since he collects SIGNAL stuff. I am surprised you did not restore it as POLLY! smile

Ted, sorry i didn't introduce myself, next time i will. i'm one of those kind of invisible guys that walks around with maybe $20 in his pocket. Don't make it to too many gas bashes either. Last one i was at was when those guys with the ATVs were knocking over the porta-potties.

Of course this applies to all bashes!

Here is the interesting thing about that question:

Every time I take or anyone else I see taking photos at a bash, the seller usually gives some sort of crappy look at us. Like, who are you and why are you taking photos of my stuff!? They usually are not very receptive. I then explain to them that I will be posting the photos on here and the response I usually get is, "It will cost you $10 to take pics of my stuff." About half are joking. I tell them I am giving them free advertisement on here. They usually walk away from me at that time. No longer interested. On this day, only 3 people said thanks. I post the photos any way for reference for everyone on here and to see what is out there for sale. I also like to look at what I missed because I was too focused on other items.

I am a buyer, and not a seller. I sell a few items here and there. If I was a seller, I would give everyone my info via pre printed cards. But that's just me.

Good idea, maybe people are just protective of their stuff.

Mike,

Thanks for the heads up! I guess we will have to live with that or attend the show! frown

At any rate, thanks for all your time to take pictures while trying to hunt for stuff!

LOL....I was too busy jacking my jaw and stopping you from setting your display up.

I did however take a photo of the Bowser 300 you restored.

Your pumps are by far the best work I have ever seen. Every event I attend I always look forward to seeing your latest work. And when things calm down for me, I can get you to do my Bowser 318.
