Members are allowed space for 200 PM messages. When the PM box gets to 200, senders get an error message that your box is full and their message bounces.

It's a good practice to get rid of unimportant PM messages from time to time, so you have room. If you are selling something, your PM box can fill up quickly.

Login, click on your user name at the login spot on the upper right and select "Messages"

To clean up PM messages, look for the checkboxes over to the right edge on your list of PM messages. Check the ones you want to delete and click the delete button at the bottom of the page. Or you can click the "Check All" button and then uncheck those you don't want to delete one page at a time.

You only have a limited amount of room, so you have to get rid of some to make room for new. Kinda like a closet or a garage.

To see how many PM messages you have, look at the top of your PM message list in the center. It will show something like this:

Quota: 156/200

Which means you have 156 messages in your PM box and are allowed 200.

Kind of along these lines...

In my messages, why do people leave PM conversations "xyz has removed themself from this topic."?

Is this message indicating that they have deleted the msg.?

Thanks

In other words, that means that the other member has deleted that topic on their end to free up space for new messages. Every member has to do that at some point or they can't get new messages after they hit their limit.

If just 1000 members have 200 PM messages each on the server, that is 200,000 messages. Saving server resources helps to keep it running faster and more efficiently.

Mich_kel,
Each member is required in the Membership Agreement to have their real first and last names and real location in their Profile. The general public can not see Profiles, only registered members with full privileges. You do not have your real name in your Profile and your full membership has not yet been activated. PM messages and several other features are not yet enabled.

The Membership Agreement that all new members agree to when registering is shown in the Forum Help FAQ section:

On that page, click on: "What are the rules of conduct for the forum?"
