I just purchased a 1955 Tokhiem 39 that is Fire Chief branded with the original signs still on it. I want recondition this pump and was wondering if anyone could tell me which globe would be the "correct" globe (Texaco or Fire Chief)?

Thanks!

I would go with the Star globe ( red star with the T in the center) All the Texaco Fire Chief pumps around my area had them.

Looking for Keystone,Pure,Sinclair,Texaco,Sterling and Gulf...Thanks, Brian

The correct globe would be a Texaco globe (a white T would be correct for the period, that's if you want to get down to the fine details).

Except for some really rare early exceptions, Texaco didn't use a Fire Chief globe.

Very helpful! Thanks a lot. This pump is very complete with eveything original still there (except globe and hose/nozzle are missing). I want to try to put it back to as close to "correct" as possible.

Thanks again,
Clayton

Another question on the Tok 39...There is a small tri-angular shaped bracket coming out of the top (opposite side of the hose). I have read that these were for price tags to be mounted. Is there anywhere you can purchase reproductions of these price tags?

Thanks again for your help,
Clayton
