Its been a year long project but I finally got a sign pole up next to my shop. Winter came on too fast last year and shelved the project until this spring and it was delayed again by a busy work schedule. Its finally up and I have 2 pumps planned for the front of the shop and with any luck, I should have at least one of them up before the snow flies!

I asked the neighbors and they were cool with it. As far as ordinances go, we're a lot more lax out here in the boonies! LOL

Looks good like a pole sign should but ya better take off the bottom chain (?) and let that thing swing. The wind out there on da praire will turn that straight pole into a 90 degree pole. Those poles are sturdy but have to flex some. My 2c. I have a pole like that with a extra top/sign pole or two but some yokel cut the pole in 2 pcs.Thats what welder are 4.

Looks great Kevin, but I agree 200% with Terry. That chain will be the death of it in a windstorm. The chain will hold the sign in a position where it will produce maximum wind loads, versus being able to swing and minimize them.

LOL No, the Fry is inside in the corner where it belongs!
You guys might be right on the chain thing! I was watching the wind push it a little the other day, and it kind of pulls down on the bottom of the sign frame and could possibly damage it? This is the setup used on it when I found it. I saw another one that used a different retainer on the bottom with a spring affair, so I thought they must need some sort of retainer on the sign part. Common sense is starting to tell me otherwise tho. I think maybe I'd better get up there and get the chain off before I leave for Iowa Gas!

Hey Kevin, ya put it there that high so you can see it when the snows???? (just kidding) Wish I could put stuff out, but it attracts squirrels 2 and 4 legged. 88 degrees at 10:30 am another hot one!

Even after the lake overflows the house the sign will still be visible so the warden knows where good fishing spots are!
