Yes kevin me jealous to. Good looking pump. I have one bought in tx, I've yet to go get. Waiting till it cools off, heard its so hot the hard shell possumns are rolling up on the half shell. Remember I think Jacks book making mention of the totalizer being added. Without it gas is basic gravity dumped correct? What is the difference with the totalizer. DB, go slow---- and maybe I'll get it.

Totalizer is the pipe looking thing along side the nozzle & hose w/ numbers at top under a cover. Hose attached to bottom of Totalizer.

Well this has sat for almost a week, so I quess I stole your post sorry. I spoke to DB, by email and he shed some light on my question. And I relize I wasn't clear. I was wondering why they added the totalizer, how did it enhance the fry pump. Faster delivery of gas to auto, etc. This was the years as everyone was in race to build better mouse trap,so to speak. Lots of compaines marketing add on parts. Looking forward to Jacks article in monthly mag, as he list other parts that was produced for the Fry. DB THANKS for the date list when its all there in one spot it makes more sense to me anyway.

Ok it finally arrived. My oldest brother had to go with my father to pick it up in the middle of nowhere or so they said. It maybe the first time my brothers hands have been dirty in decades. My Dad said he almost died when he tried to lift it onto the truck. Awesome looking pump and the totalizer apparatus is totally cool. OK yes I'm pretty excited about this one. Glass was a slightly purple tint with etched gallon lines. Too bad it was broken.

Both the totalizers I've had were porcelain-faced clock dials. Never seen this version.

I think I will. it is neat how the blank door on the back is amost totally flat and very thich along with the galon set lever is almost twice the weight and thickness as the later ones. They trimmed manufacturing costs moving forward I would say because for a baseless FRY this sucker was way heavier then I thought it would be.

What is the petcock looking drain lever on the bottom of the totalizer or is it what I roughly described it as?

Not a PETCOCK on bottom, just a round valve wheel for releasing the Fluid from cylinder to hose, instead of a Quick Shut-off gate valve.
Almost bet the Totalizers that petropumps had were made by Neptune [very similar to what water companies use today for home meter systems, curbside]. Totalizers above were made by GUARANTEE for use on their pumps.
