Hi guys,
I found this at an auction in England, and not too sure of what it is. Not sure of the description given, what do you think?

"Spherical globe featuring five pointed star emblem to both sides, each point featuring an image with ATALF initials to centre. Believed to stand for Amalgamated Texan Agricultural Light Fuels and to be an early example of what subsequently became Caltex. Script 'Solar Elec Co, Chicago, Canteen, Patents Pending' cast into glass towards base. Very good condition with no chips or cracks, some fading to colours"

Neat looking globe...

I can't find anything matching their interpetation of the acronym on Google. Can't even find anything for "amalgamated texan" or "amalgamated texaco"...
So, the description may be partial bullhonkey. Either way, it's pretty cool looking... I hope somebody knows more about it.

Wes

I have answered my qustion here,
this lamp is from a Masonic lodge and shows the eastern star.
The initials are in fact FATAL, this stands for "Fair Among Thousands Altogether Lovely."
Not a rare Texan globe as the auction house states!
