Anyone know anything about Knickerbocker or Ajax Oil ? Found two two gallon cans in an old garage Dave

DAVE, HOW ABOUT SOME PICTURES? THEY TELL ALOT. WHAT DOES THE SMALL PRINT READ ON THE CAN AS FAR AS COMPANY NAME & LOCATION?

I tried to download a photo but it was too large and rejected. Will try again tomorrow. Both cans say Columbia Petroleum Products Co. Philadelphia, PA.100% Pure Pennsylvania Motor Oil and are similar in design but different in coloration and graphics(Orange/blue and red/black) Great graphics.Thanks for the reply. Dave

Don't quote me on this but I believe the Ajax and the Knickerbocker were both old cars from the twenties. Old car experts get on here and either prove me right or wrong. Mitch

I think your referring to the Rickenbacker Automobile, not the Nickenbacker? The Rickenbacher Auto company was formed in the late teen and named after racing legend and former Indinappolis Speedway owner Eddie Rickenbacher.
I don't think these cans are specific to any one auto manufacture. These cans are from the mid 30's, long after the Ajax and the Rickenbacher were out of production. There both two good cans with cool graphics but the condition isn't there for top dollar. Cool cans though!!
