A friend called me a couple months ago and said picked up a old battery charger at a yard sale.He said he got for me because I liked old things like that.Today I went and got it,wow never seen a rolling battery charger like this.It was made by Triple A Specialty Co. out of Chicago.I took the back cover off and as I suspected it had been painted, the original color was greenish-blue.It all there but the wires are brittle and the wheels are shot.I didn't plug it in because the power cord was falling apart. As soon as I get the Sunoco custom blending pump done the charger is next.If anybody has any info or pictures please let me know. Thanks

I probably have an ad for it. I always liked battery chargers because the companies that made them had imagination. I probably have over 300 charger ads.

Let me know if you want me to look for the ad.

Do you have any ads or manuals for FOX PRODUCTS CO?
My battery charger was made by them.

I been busy working on the charger this week.I made diagrams of wire locations and then took it apart.I used paint stripper and took it to bare metal.I then work out all the dents and then skim coated and block sanded.I then turned my attention to the internals.I very carefully cleaned each piece and made up new 4 gauge cables. The cooling fan was fried so I bought a new one from Baker Distribution, imagine that they are still available.I gave the internal housing a fresh coat of white paint.I assembled it using pictures and carefully returning every part to its exact location.Saturday it will get paint,it would already be painted if it wasn't for day job.I added a picture with some of my other projects.I will update as I progress.thanks

Made some more progress the week,I painted the body and bought 25 feet of 4 gauge welding cable.I bought NOS battery clamps off ebay ,they have not arrived yet.The clamps in the pictures are cheap ones that cost $3.00.The decal is taped on to see if it would look okay.I painted the top and back cover Sunoco blue this mourning, waiting for them to dry.The face still needs finished.I still don't know if it works.I think it will no fried internals. Thanks for looking

IT WORKS!!!!! It puts out 7 to 11 volt in 6 volt mode and 12 to 17 volts in 12 volt mode in 6 steps on each. There is 2 things not working, the motorized timer switch and rate of charge gauge.I have spent about 4 hours searching the internet and found nothing.I have posted a picture of the gauge in hope the someone might know a source or might even have an old charger that has one.It measures 2 3/4 inch square.A meter that reads in amps would work also.Thank for any ideas.

Great work. I would have never thought to restore that charger. It just goes to show if you have the patience and desire that you can do anything. Great Job!

Thanks to everyone for their comments and glad my work has been an inspiration to someone. The battery charger is not the only thing I have been working on.The pump I started on in late May and its still not finished.I had left over paint and started painting every thing. The thing in the upper left center is a Balcrank enclosed hose reel from closed Phillips 66.It was like when I got started I could not stop.As you can tell I have a love for all thing Sunoco.I started working as an attendant in a Sunoco when I was 16.I would say a lot of my inspiration came from this website.I would love to see more of this kind of post and love pictures of work in progress.JUST DO SOMETHING BIG OR SMALL Again thanks for the great commets
