The toy craftsman shared this photo with me since he made several 1/8 scale of this. This is a CUSTOM wrecker from a PACKARD. It rests in a museum somewhere in the States.

I know of an 80 year old mechanic who used to work on Packards. So, I shared the photo with him & asked if Packard corp. made wreckers.
His answers: "NO"! He also told me why someone chose a Packard. So, let me pick your brain. Do you know why?

Because they had that huge V12 engine in them with a high ratio rear axle. One set out in a wrecking yard here in Cheyenne made out of a convertible coupe with the boom comng out of the trunk. It set there for at least 20 years next to a 1939 Buick convertible that I wanted so bad I could taste it. Finally they all disappeared because somebody came though town and bought every collectable car he had. Mitch

Now the 1/8 scale of the WRECKER in steel...

This toy truck has model look to it but I still consider it a toy. An extraordinary workmanship. All done by hand.

This is the kind of talent one can find in good'ol USA!

THE BEDS LOOK SIMILAR...

WAS TOLD THIS TRUCK IS A NASH. DID NASH ACTUALLY PRODUCE A PICK-UP OR WAS THIS FABRICATED FROM A CAR?

ANYONE KNOW FOR SURE?

LAST THIS RAT ROD BELONGS TO MY FRIEND CHRIS WHO HAS SEVERAL RIDES TUCKED IN HIS GARAGE....
