i picked this sign up for a few bucks to redo & hang in the shop. this one was originally white, with a gold border & red letters. i know other willard signs are red with white letters & think that scheme will stand out better on my white walls. i'll probably never sell it so pretty well know it all boils down to what i like, but wanted some other opinions before i get to the paint stage.

if you'll 'probably' never sell it, I would paint something on the back, noting who/when the sign was repainted...to help out the next guy who owns it...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

correct, has a hole about the size of a baseball in the "T" that needs patched plus a couple of small caliber bullet holes to fix. the "willard" script is embossed, but will need to make patterns of the "batteries" script.

i also have a veedol painted sign to redo that is the twin to one i did a while back, then sold. i get all the patterns remade for that & i might make up a few replicas of it. here is the matching one i redid a while back:

i also have a few porcelains to redo that were damaged in the fire:
D-X motor oil before:

after fire:

small phillips lollypop sign:

also have one of the long, rectangular sinclair station signs from the 20's that i'll be restoring to hang on the front of the shop. luckily, it wasn't in the fire...
