If you have a Gilbert & Barker gas pump it was likely built at the factory in West Springfield Mass.
The buildings and the water tower are still there. I was down that way today and snapped a few pictures.

That's cool. What's the building used for today?

I think the main building is a paper manufacturer.

G&B left that building in 1966 and moved to Greensboro, NC. They are now the largest manufacturer of gas pumps.

Gasmel... very nice pictures!
In relation to these pictures I would like to tell a nice story that somewhat includes this old factory...

As many of you know, I am from Sweden, and when I bought my first Gilbarco some ten years ago here in Sweden(it is a British built model 396) I could not find any litterature about it. It is very similar to GB96/906 so I sent an email to Gilbarco in the US to ask for help. The woman at customer support had relations to Sweden in her family so she immediately responded that she would try to help me :-)
She contacted an oldtimer who had worked at the old factory thats in your picture - a very helpful man - he made copies of the manuals for GB900 and 1000 series and they were sent to me via snail mail. It turned out that the construction is very similar and some exterior parts fit (i.e. top and top cover).
A couple of years later, I received an email from a Dutch couple who had accuired a GB906. They had seen my name her on Oldgas and contacted me to see if I could be of assistance with their restoration - of course I made some new copies of the manual for 900 series an mailed them to Holland. At first I heard nothing, but about a year later I received an email from the Dutch couple showing them and their Gilbarco, now restored to Harley Davidson theme.
Cheers everyone :-)
Claes
