Petroliana Collection at Kohlweiss Auto Parts
Redwood City, California, between San Francisco and San Jose.
http://kparts.com/

Just knock-your-socks-off petroliana everywhere you turn, right in an operating auto parts store. A ton more stuff is not in these pictures because I couldn't position myself and the camera to do much of it justice. I promise an amazing time if you visit. Must See!

I buy parts from that store whenever I can. There are more signs that are not visible to the public and are located in their stock room and offices. The store front (on the inside) is lined with restored gas pumps.

I've actually sold some used truck parts (48-52 Ford) to his son that is building a traditional rod. The son told me that his father has another large storage warehouse where he keeps more signs and petroliana. He added that his father is not concentrating on collecting signs with animals.

Pictures do not do this collection justice. There's so much to see in there and I usually see something I didn't notice before everytime I visit the store.

IF THAT'S AN AUTO PARTS STORE, I'D BE SO DISTRACTED BY ALL THAT STUFF THAT I'D PROBABLY FORGET WHAT I CAME INTO THE STORE TO BUY, FORGET WHERE I PARKED, LOSE MY WAY HOME, ETC ETC. LOL!

Yes indeed that is a nice collection I won't deny that. I bet we all wish we had a business to write our collectibles off as an expense. Sure is a great advertising draw. Just saying I would do that too. JOhn

Saw this place once while surfing the web, drove 1.5 hrs over to it and checked it out. It is an ongoing business so I felt sort of stupid just standing there with my jaw open, but did it anyway. An incredible collection. Thanks for taking the pics.
