Off again on another pump pickin trip. First stop was in Northern Alabama, loaded the trailer with a nice selection. Then we headed southwest towards Mississippi. Thought it would be cool to tour the Natchez Trace. The sign said no commercial trucks. Well the officer friendly of the park service didn't think too much of a load of pumps on his parkway. He kindly ask use to exist, said something about spoiling the view. Dang, that was the most direct route. Didn't get a ticket because he saw a Veeder Root in the back of the truck and it brought back memories of his college days working part time for Veeder Root. All's well and we headed on south to the next stop.

Here is a picture of the pump gutting commando's. Paul Hittle, on the right of Severn Gas Pumps and John Kramer aka JunknJohn. John had too much fun on the Texas trip and wanted somemore. Paul thought that this trip looked fun, loves the junk. I ended up buying all the common pumps that were left after Greg in Michigan hauled out the good ones. This is whats left of the Alabama eBay $$$$$$$ Pump sale. Actually they always were in Mississippi. The globes and signs are still there and for sale. Man are our backs sore. Off to the scap metal yard tomorrow and load the pumps. Now it's time for bed.

I spy a G&B 80 on the trailer. I like those. They are plain but there is something about them. Maybe because one of them was my first visi gauge pump. I currantly have three.

Just got home this morning from my trip with Tom and John into Mississippi. In the photo of John and myself.....can you tell the we were both dragging tired? I couldn't stand straight and John was actually being held up by the sledge hammer,LOL! The day of this photo-op, Tom and I had gutted 75 pumps. We had the easiest job since John was kind enough to spare the "OLD GUYS" by personally cutting the vines and roots, which held the pumps to the ground. Then he drug them with a dolly out to the front for us to work on. He was a great help to this whole escapade. Tom and John, Thanks, It was a HOOT! Paul www.severngaspumps.com

75 pumps? Now I work fast and it takes me about an hour to an hour and a half to do "ONE" pump? How do you do it so fast? There must be a torch, sawzall, and a BFH involved? LOL

Ya gotta quit looking for 1 at a time, start looking for old bulk/service/scrap companies. That's where you'll strike gold [gotta have the cash also to step-up].

Got home safe with no blowouts. Here is a picture of 3 happy guys to have the job done and I know 2 of them are real happy to not have to unload it all. When I was off to the scrap yard they somehow slide some Tokheim 39's laying down on top, these are all the way up to the ceiling, I can't figure out how they did that. By the way the scrap paid really well. The Penske trailer is loaded all the way back with stacked 39's and 300's. It took about 10 minutes to gut a 39 or 300, 1/2" gear wrench along with a ratchet and a Sawzall for the piping. I can't thank John and Paul enough for their help, they are some of the nicest guys you will ever meet in this hobby.
Tom.
