Hello, I need several parts for an early American visible pump
1. American "Eagle" nameplate 2. 3/8" 90 degree light conduits 3. glass cylinder 12" x 27" 4. Underwriters ID tag 5. center conduit in cylinder 6. overflow pipe in cylinder
I also need pictures of your American pump. Does anyone know how the top casting comes apart? Does it screw togther? My electrical conduit protrudes through the center with a packing gland. Any help is greatly appreciated. Greg Flatt, Loveland Colorado 303-775-7172 tlstewart65@msn.com

If you let me know the Model # or which pump it is on pages 31-41 of my Gas Pump Identification book, I might have a parts manual for the pump.

Hello Jack and Phil, I am at a loss as to what model pump I have as the ID tag is missing. I will try to post a pic on this thread today. It has the early American cylinder top (1918-23) but the body is totally different from any pump in Jack's book. Jack, I need to speak with you on the phone about my Fry "Visiflator" air tower and the Kellogg air tower. I will call soon. Just recovering from heart bypass surgery. Greg

The body of your pump looks like a Progress made in Arthur Ill. That cast door definitly is. The indicators and top (looks like a 5-gallon pump size) shown in the seperate picture are some American model...many used those similiar tops and indicators. Is the top piece shown on the pump a flat cast piece with no inspection hole in the middle? Then the other piece sits on top of that?

Thank you Jim for that information. I felt as if the pump might be a mix of parts. The top is definately American. The cylinder is 10 gallon. 12" x 27". Does anyone have pictures of the Progress pump Jim is referring to? I see in Jack Sims book that American cylinders were used on several different makes of pumps.

12" x 27" is the cylinder size for the Progress. I believe all you actually need is the correct indicators and the top (bonnet) and you have a correct configuration Progress. That American top must be quite small in diameter sitting on the upper cylinder piece isn't it?
