Take the high road. Delete his number from your phone and simply walk away. Give people like that enough rope and they will hang themselves.

I see absolutely nothing positive coming from a confrontation. He actually did you a favor, now you know who and what he is. Sometimes that's enough.

Just to clear up some confusion, it was NOT Dave Ritchey that tried to screw me.

Don't delete his number from your phone. Keep it just in case he calls you. His ID will show up on your screen along with his number so you will know who is calling before you answer.

I think this is a case where it would be in your best interest to confront him and let him know that you're aware of his actions and want nothing to do with him, ever again. It will eat at him for the rest of his life and hopefully it makes a change in him. Remember, I said hopefully!
What a stand up guy the seller was! I'm impressed!

Its frustrating I know, I'm in a similar albeit different predicament. I bought a pump from a fellow member, and paid almost double what it would normally bring because he assured me that it was barn fresh complete pump with factory paint and functioning and resetable clock mech, and that the parts I could not see were indeed there and would be shipped. I paid for it and let it sit at his place paid for for several months, I just got it only to find out it was repainted, the upper skins were flimsy hand bent repos, the clock mech came in kit form, part of which he bagged up before he shipped, and the rest fell apart as soon as I opended it up, and of couse the valve handle I didn't see wasn't there, and couldn't be because it didn't even have that option. I have tried contacting him twice and no response, I see he has been on the site since but has not posted, and this is a long time member. I won't out him, I am of the opinion the no debt in the universe ever goes unpaid, there is a perfect accounting system.

That brings up a good point. "Veteran" status does not always guarantee character and integrity. One would think that being dishonest would cause one's eventual demise, but with a constant influx of "newbies" and being selective as to who you "pull one on", one can survive for quite a long time. This forum acts somewhat as a sounding board which may "ferret out" these scoundrels. Ebay uses a rating system which it has had to modify somewhat over the years to stop those that cannot be pleased from retribution attacks.Simplicity is a good this, but the bigger you get(members) the more issues pop up. This website may need(at some point) to institute a rating system.

Take off the gloves and confront him head on!!!

What he did was back stabbing, dishonest, and slanderous toward two people. He lied about you, and tried to frame Johnny.
