Other than the look, what is the differences in using a high profile metal globe vs the low profile. Gas pump height is not an issue for me. Was both styles used by all pump manufacturer in all dates or was one earlier than the other.

Both styles were used by most pump companies, But not all Oil Companies used both styles.
Benjamin/Henderson's Globe books tells what the correct configurations were.
