Maybe this has been done before in this forum, but I would like to see what gas collectors consider their favorite items. If everything but one or two things had to be sold what would you want to keep? It doesn't have to be the most valuable but maybe it has a great story. Here's mine--a chevrolet bowtie neon

It was hard for me to pick out just one thing, so I narrowed it down to pairs of globes and signs. (I didn't see globes in the list but they are among my favorite things.) The Gulf Marine White was my greatest globe find so far (about 8 months ago), but the Marathon I think is my favorite globe/design. When I first started collecting old gas I got the globe books and looked through every page. When I saw this one I said to myself I was going to own that globe one day. I was finally able to secure one after several years from Scott Benjamin. In the line of signs, both of these are well above average in condition, but the working Red Crown thermometer is special to me as it was the first "real" sign I had found when I started collecting old gas items, and it's been in my area since it was new. It was handed down in a local family for a couple generations then sold to me. I will never sell it. Have a good one, Darin

Here are a few on my favorites...
The Opaline cans is not the most rare can I have but it's by far my favorite, the race car image is hands down one of the best.
The Stanley sign is one of the most recent things I bought but it's become one of my favorites, the colors are killer!
I only have a few globes but this one is my favorite for obvious reasons....
The Chevrolet sign is my dad's favorite.

Had this for about 4 years, it was a cheap buy and beat and bent all to hell and back. Big chunk missing from top left corner about 8inches square. Lots of porcelain missing all over, a real basket case. Done a little work on it here and there and finally got it fairly flat and whole again. Found a little gal that likes to paint and put her to work. It's a long way from right but it's nice again. The white spots that show up on it are false, they are not on the sign. This one had to be redone, painted, restored or what ever you want to call it. I like it and think it's very rare. Goes with my 41 IH truck.
My fav sign, restored out of necessity.

After seeing all the fantastic pumps, globes, signs, cans.... I am almost embarrassed to post my favorite items.... My favorite signs; Favorite small(s); My favorite can and maybe rarest(?), at least I've not seen another except for photo in "Can Bible"; And lastly my favorite "Gas Stick"; It is made of cardboard, not wood. So how it survived is IMO quite remarkable.

I found this globe (and 3 others including cast Tydol ethyl) in the attic of an old Dodge dealership in SW Okla. in 1975. They were NOS and had never been on a pump. This thing sat on a shelf in my den for years until I finally bought the right clockface pump to put it on about 5 years ago. I'd have to say it's the one thing I'd try to grab in case of a fire!. and a couple of favorite cans:
