Ok guys, I've been collecting for quite a few years, but I've never seen one of these strange globes in person. I do however, have original glass for one. Does anyone have the body? Anyone ever seen a body? Anyone have a "real" photo of a body? I'm guessing that since the glass exsist, the bodies must too?

SORRY W/C DOC, I CAN'T HELP YOU WITH THAT ONE. OBVIOUSLY A STYLE THAT NEVER REALLY TOOK OFF. WONDER HOW MANY OF THOSE GLOBES SOLD! HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE IN PICTURES OR IN PERSON. STRANGE LOOKING TO SAY THE LEAST....HENCE THE REASON FOR NEVER SEEING ONE. THEY SHOULD'VE SWEPT THAT IDEA UNDER THE CARPET, BUT THAT'S JUST MY OPINION. PROBABLY WORTH THE BIG BUX IF YA HAD ONE.

I was at Clyde's this morning and I think this is the topper that DB was speaking of. It has a cast iron base and globe holder with what looks like a stamped steel frame. It displays the price of the gas in the glass and a color wheel inside rotates to make the color of the price change. I think he said it came from an old Standard Oil wholesaler.
Also does anyone have a single lense of the Phillips 66 globe in this picture that is for sale? Let me know.
