hi just wondering what a fair price is or what you guys perfer for an oil can rack to display my cans I dont see them to often so i dont really know what is a fair price i would like an original with a sign or what ever i find close by. if you want post a pic of yours or tell me about it that would be great thanks

One more time. If you had a copy of my Gas Pump Identification book you would be able to see what I (or we, because I had help is determining values) felt was a fair price to pay for a unrestored oil can rack. A couple of them are shown on page 69 of the Bennett section, and five more of them are shown on pages 211 & 212 (Modern Metels).

Books are helpful to determine what style you want, but can be outdated in regard to price. Watch ebay sales, check craigslist ads in your area, and see if you can network with other collectors in your area. I just saw 2 oil can racks on ebay last week. Price varies depending on style, condition, the economy, and even geography.

Also..if you will pm me your address I think I've got a Petroleum Collectors magazine that they devoted one issue to oil can racks.
