Lately there has been some contentious post / threads regarding the selling of items on this site and what buyers and sellers think items are worth. I agree with most viewpoints on this topic which includes the price being included in the posting, or put it in an auction format. Having purchased several items through the "for sale" forum and also made connections with buyers as a result of Oldgas, I would like to add the following insight:

A majority of the members on this site are collectors and not in the hobby to make money; when these members post items for sale they do it in the correct format either price it (which almost all the time is very fair and true market value and the item sells the first day if not the first hour) or put it an auction format to try to get the most for their item which is dictated by the buyers that are interested. The members or visitors trying to find the unknowing buyer to turn a quick buck and make “crazy” money on the item they have picked the wrong venue; the members on this site are the experts and have the knowledge and experience and will not fall into that trap and pay “crazy” money for an item. Those members or visitors who post items for sale need to understand this concept; if they want to find a buyer that is willing to pay way above market value Ebay is the place for this; if they want to sell an item and get fair market value, or even a little more if someone just has to have the item, then use the format outlined in the link below.

Just my two cents.
