Found a sinclair drum today and got a close look at it and noticed its a veedol drum. somebody painted over it with latex paint and slapped a sinclair decal on it.
If i buy it and use paint thinner on it and bring it back to life, will the thinner eat through the veedol too? would like to have it,but dont want to ruin it.

Man, thats a tough question! The only person that can answer that is the guy that goes ahead and does it and lets us know! Many times, the paint underneath is very durable and you can get the top layer off without affecting it! Other times, I have found the bottom layer to be soft and it comes off right along with the top layer! It can't be that expensive to purchase, so go ahead and try it! Let us know what happened!

Removing latex paint is tough. Paint thinner won't work. Paint stripper will probably damage the original paint.

Try a Heat Gun. Sometime just a little heat will get the latex to release. Just remember Haste Makes WASTE, Take your time.

Try a good degreaser first. That's worked for me. And also try oven cleaner in a spot. But don't leave it on long.
