I did it once. Broke out the bad glass and used pliers to bend edge of frame open. Put in new glass and carefully bent edge back to glass. No way to get it perfect as some ripples remained in frame edge as it is impossible to put enough pressure to rmove them all without breaking new glass. It wasn't perfect but did turn out pretty good.

I have found a way to do this and it is virtually undetectable as being repaired. I built a tool to install the new lens. The new one has to be polished or ground with a diamond wheel to make it fit and not bind. I have perfected my method after breaking about 20 of the new lenses. You also have to have a quality lense not a thin cheap one. I will replace a lens for you for $80.00 plus the cost to ship it back to you. I charge only the actual cost for shipping with insurance and delivery confirmation. If you have a nice Pam thermometer, it is worth the money to have the glass dome replaced and restore it back to it's original condition. I have perfect feedback on eBay, you can check me out at, msullivan8hmk on eBay feedback. Before you ruin your thermometer by making it a two piece one let me repair it or sell it to me. We have a love for clocks and thermometers and hate to see them repaired improperly!
