I have a set of NOS gulf flags/sting banner.. Blue flags with orange and white gulf letters and logo. I am guessing that they measure 18 feet long in total...can be cut at any length i guess. they look like the race flags/sting banner, but are obviously Gulf. Very nice. No rips, fade, etc. Vibrant colors. $45 bucks shipped to anywhere in US. Let me know. Thanks. I may also have some station metal letters with plastic lenses (white) that are backlit. the letters are a foot tall. most have the lighting still in the letters. Thanks Again. ARA

The letters (which I will take some pics and send them to you today or tomorrow) are nice condition. They have white plastic lens fronts, the housings are metal, the fronts have a removeable cover to access the lighting. I have no idea if the lights work as I have never wired them. they are about 16 inches tall...and about 14 inches wide....but obviously the "G" in Gulf is wider than the "L" in Gulf just because of the shape of the letter. I paid 150 for them because they make a big effect but don't take up a lot of room....I'd take 150 for them plus shipping. Shipping wouldn't be much cause they're pretty light. They are not connected to eachother, so you can space the letters out as much or as little as you like. I had them spaced about 4 inches from eachother and they really looked nice....Best Regards. I have been collecting Gulf for several years and have a few extras. I'll do my best to get to the shop over the weekend and send you some pictures. I haven't unpacked them from Hershey.

...it's his thread, so Wayne (cosdencop) gets first refusal on this stuff...

...three rare Gulf posters from around 1930...a carpenter in Mass. was taking up a hardwood floor and found 12 or so of these under the boards...he called them a 'squeak barrier'...I bought the lot 8 years or so ago, these are what's left...yes, they're obviously in rough condition...if they were in really nice condition the one with the attendant and the Duplex would be upwards of $1000 alone...the original dimensions are 28" x 42"...if you wanted to have them restored (which I understand is done with vintage movie posters all the time) they could make one poster out of the two similar posters, and they would look brand new...it ain't a cheap process...I'm not trying to be an apologist, but the fact is these are extremely rare to find in any condition...anyway, $100 for the lot of three includes shipping...

...instant Gulf ink blotter/postcard collection...25 pieces...$200 includes shipping...you could piece these together off eBay over a couple of years, but you'd spend $50-75 in shipping alone...dollar shown for scale...top photo shows all 25 pieces, the crummy bottom photo is a lame, no-flash attempt to show the blotters washed out by the flash in the first photo...

...Gulf 'Regular' sign, only used at Gulf stations in North Carolina and Florida...it's in the Benjamin/Henderson 'Oil Company Signs' book, under Gulf pump signs...dollar shown for scale...$65 includes shipping...

...or $350 for the lot, shipped...PM & post here if interested...

Last edited by gulfiend!; Fri Oct 28 2011 11:44 AM. Reason: ...crummy non-flash photo, explained...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
