THERE WAS A ROCKET GAS STATION IN WAUWATOSA, WI (SUBURB OF MILWAUKEE) IN THE LATE 60's . THIS BOTTLE WAS PURCHASED THERE BY MY GRANDFATHER. IT IS A PAINTED-ON-GLASS LABEL WITH NO ADDRESS. ....... and YES it does look like it should have maple syrup in it.

I found this photo in the Wisconsin State Historical Society website, at http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/whi/fullimage.asp?id=45135Looks like the Madison Rocket Oil bulk plant was at 204 South Paterson Street in 1946. I found a 1946 Wisconsin State Journal article from 1946 later this afternoon that is a bit too small print to copy and post. Will try to transcribe.
