Let's see, postcards are always interesting and they don't take up much space. Hmmmm. I share how you think!

I wasn't going to comment, but after that pic I will.I've known Steve for years and firmly believe his old cars always were his first love as my old trucks are mine.
Personally,I would say he is "returning to his roots"in a way by concentrating on his cars and using petro stuff to accent his true love.Correct me if I'm wrong Steve, but I put you in the position of not leaving the hobby but rather in one of refinement to go along with the old cars.BTW,I've always liked the old unrestored pump to go with the old cars,

I don't know...I always wonder what these "I'm getting out of it" posts are really for.
I don't think it's that easy to stop and may be posted for effect.
Every hobbie/collectible area goes through the enevitable changes as described by many in the interest, can't stop it.
I think most who decide to leave and announce it here are showing their frustration at how they feel and are saddened that a once enjoyable activity has changed before their eyes.

It is a bit confusing as to why this thread was started- was it to announce retirement or to rant on repro's? Nevertheless, it is unfortunate to see a long time collector 'bow out' of the game. His membership here would have been welcome and would have likely been productive with the 'knowledge' he could have shared. Also, looking at Steve's previous posts, it is unfortunate that he didn't give oldgas members the 'good' price on his sign and pump, that he did to ebay members. But, that is his business and not my own.

Well, I have had some health problems in the recent past; maybe that will cure it! LOL I must say all of the private messages I've received have been very kind and gentle, proving once again that there are many more of the good guys on oldgas than the bad apples. Upon reflection, I guess I will not go completely away after all. I will check in to this forum from time to time for lively discussions like this one. It's the marketplace that doesn't interest me much and that's nobody's fault other than good old supply and demand. As my interest is really mainly in the 1920s and 1930s, there is very little supply and lots of demand. That's no fault of oldgas or any of its members.

(3) he retired form greenbay then from the jets then from the vikings in my opinion one too many Brett's a great player in all one of my favorites of all time but hes ruining his legacy hes just getting beat up on the field and loosing games nobody even cares anymore if hes going to retire in the off season or not thats how bad its gotten
