Happy New Year to you also Phil & all oldgassers! Mild day here again. Can't believe this mild winter. Only 1 1/2" of snow so far this season. Weatherman says next two weeks will be in the 40's! I'll take it! Sam

Beautiful sunny day here, expected to go into the 60's. Bob and I are off to a local beach to look for sharks teeth.

Morning all, ball drops tonight. 59 DEGREES TODAY! We are suppose to pay for it next week as temps tumble back to the norm. Had visions of getting the scooter out today, looks like the right thing to do is a funeral home visit for a friend who has lost their sister. So off I go as its a good distance away. HAGD-ALL Nicole must be needing a new necklace, huh ! Happy Hunting--If we only had a beach here with sharks life would be complete.

Morning all! Glad to see a few of you checking in on the last day of the year! LETS HAVE EVERYONE THAT READS THIS, CHECK IN TODAY AND SAY HI! Its the last time this year!!!!!!!!!!!!
The weather in North Dakota has finally deteriorated! We've had about 3 inches of snow in the last few days and tonight they say we are to get winds at 35mph with gusts over 50! You know what that means----BLIZZARD! But like with everything in this part of the country, we take it as it comes and don't sweat what "might be"! Its been a great year for me and I could ramble on for hours about all the good things that have happened but the main thing is---I'm still here! Looking foreward to the coming year and maybe traveling more! I hope today finds all of you in good spirits and may next year be a properous and fullfilling year for you! Have a great day on me!!--KEVIN

Good Morning! Just back from a hike in a wooded area across the street from the big box stores where a duck farm and an equipment dealer used to stand. The building is now just huge piles of RCA. I managed to do this in between showers because it's raining again now. Supposed to reach mid 50's and clear up later. Getting a VEGGIE Pie later and hanging out with friends and family this evening. This the day last of the year...Enjoy, be safe and most important DON'T DRINK & DRIVE!! Nicole looks for sharks teeth and I look for old bottles. At least we're not in competition with each other! LOL!

Good Morning everyone,
We've had a couple days in the mid to upper 50s but with stiff, gusty winds. Today is another day in the 50s but with less wind. Even with wind, they are some real nice days for this time of year. Weather gets cooler for a stretch starting tomorrow.
We've had a great year. We're both in good health. Took a trip out to California to visit family and sight-see the coast and the Sequoias. Finally got the zoning permit and built my shop garage. Retirement has worked out to be affordable after all. A few challenges this year, but no complaints.
Have a safe and happy New Year celebration!

Hi Fellow Gassers, We are back from our holiday travels and its sure good to be home. I am doing more challenging exercises in PT for my wrist. Its a bit painful, but I am making progress. No pain, no gain as they say. I motivate myself by thinking about people I know (some here) who have gone through much, much worse. My wife volunteered to work tonite so the younger people could have the night off. I will struggle to stay up till the New Year, kiss myself, and go to bed. Happy New Year everyone. Lets hope its better than last year for everyone. At least our troops are home from Iraq. John

Happy New Years Eve everyone.
We've had rain on and off for the last 24-hours. There is not a flake of snow left anywhere.
It will probably be foggy tonight which will just cause problems for the amateur drunks that seem to appear at this time of year. LOL
All the more reason to stay safe and snug at home.
Have a safe night all.
Later . . .
Jim

I haven't found a big enough sharks tooth to make myself a necklace, but have made them for my young nieces. I am not a heavy duty searcher, those folk wear trout stream waders and have sieves on the end of long poles. Met a father/daughter team. She (must have been 7 or 8) collected 30 that day. It was more a romantic stroll. We only found one small washed up tooth on the shore plus some bone fragments. Doc, the only bottle collecting I do is for paintings. Plus finding shards of: late 17th and early 18th century bottles, pottery and clay pipe stems. Still hoping to find some early arrowheads.
