Good Morning All! Wow! Temps have seriously dropped in the last 2 days for a short spell. Going from highs in the 50's to barely getting out of the 20's. They even said snow flurries in the forecast, however I don't see a cloud in the sky. Town sanitation said we were getting a $148 cut in our taxes due to a new contract. So I'm thinking the other guys got booted (private company). So this morning (first pick up of the year) I hear them out front. I see a brand new white truck (not even dirty inside the back) and 3 guys not the usual 2. It put a smile on my face! See? LOL! HAGDE!

Good morning Doc. Hey, were there big telephone numbers on the side of the truck, like Thunder's? HAGD Sam

Morning gang.
DOC - Jodi treats our pick-up guys to cookies/treats a couple of times a year. That way, when I put a TON of cr@p out at the curb, they take it all! LOL
Cold, cold & cold here today. Temperatures in the upper 'teens' with snow flurries.
I'm glad I don't have any outside work to do today.
Later . . .
Jim

Sunny and chilly here. Off to pick up a painting that won an award in a show--too bad it didn't sell. But hey, it's a beautiful day for a drive!

Hello All, My first day back to work since last Thursday. I was suprised I remembered where to go this morning, lol. Funny thing was all the work I left last week was still on my desk this morning, plus a bunch of new stuff to deal with! I had a great few days off though. I went to an area I haven't been antiquing to for quite a few years and I was really glad I did. I was finally able to find a vintage 1942 Coca Cola Santa standee in great shape, and at a super price. It was tucked in the back corner of a shop. When I saw it I was thinking to myself, I bet that thing is a couple hundred bucks. I looked it over and couldn't find a price, so I was thinking it was display only and wasn't for sale. Went and asked the clerk and she said "It's priced on the back, it's $45"! I was very glad to have found the sign and at such a great price. It is an impressive size, about 52" tall. I can't wait to put him beside the tree next year! Just shows some scarce items are still out there at great prices. Have a great day all, Darin

Hi everyone, Started at 15 this morning and is now up to 32. We've missed most of this so far this season. Upper 50s later this week. Thin ice on the lake this morning except where I have my pump running, stirring up the water. Lots more ducks than usual were here, squeezed into 1000 sq ft of open water. They were splashing and moving around as if it was a nice day. Maureen is in the city for a dental checkup. I'm unsupervised for a while. Have a great day out there in Oldgasland!

Temperatures below freezing with wind chills near 20. Decided to take a hike in a local state park. Sun and heavy clouds trailing strands of virga, very dramatic. Some snow flakes getting through driven by the wind. It was wonderful!
I still can't figure out how the wind in the trees translates from a bunch of sticks hitting each other to the sounds of low flying fighter jets...that walk was mostly the fighter jets.
Nicole BTW DB, 'cause I know you are going to ask, it was LJ weather. Hope your feets don't get sunburned in those flip flops.
