Close on the ID of the Coke machine - it is a Glasco 50 and very similar to the Ideal.
I also want to thank all of you for all the positive comments on my Project -

Looks real good Jerry! You might have to host a garage tour for us Northwest guys when you get settled in. Tim

Very nice! I like the elevator. Something to be said for building retirement coupe on one level, but you got it covered. You know we don't want to think about getting old and stairs being a promblem, but I see lots of folks who reside in only half their homes due to stairs.

I have been asked by a few of you about the elevator. I was one of those Craig list finds - an elevator for $125, something I didn't know I needed till I saw the ad. It was still in operation in a house and they wanted it gone. With a friends help and about 4 hours of time we had it disassembled and in my truck. Then the task was where to figure out where to install it and will it work after I do install it. After much figuring - I decided to remove the stairs in the garage and put it in place of them as I finished the space. It was a fun project and the first ride was great -
And I also think Tim's idea of a garage tour in the future is a great idea.
Here's a couple of more pictures of the elevator

Wow, I didn't realize it was operational without seeing cables hanging from the top in your orginal picture. When the elevator is down, does the roof of it sort of cover the hole on the second floor?

Jerry: Looks nice. I will be at my brother's place in a few weeks and will try to head down your way. Assuming you are still there. Better nail down that Texaco marine sign before i get there...LOL

There are a few things that are not yet done in the room - like the railing around the elevator - it will have a gate and railing one of these days so nobody falls in the hole - it all about priorities
Alex - make sure you walk down and visit

Will do....
For the rest of the oldgassers...it is truly a small world. I was out in Seattle a couple of years back visiting my brother when he told me of a Texaco sign down the street and we should walk down there. Turns out it was 42 Packard.

That would be a great place to hang out, but you know what it really needs? A 1959 Cadillac couch custom built, painted, and upholstered by my class and I. We have one available if you are interested!

Thanks but I'm partial to 42 Packard's - and I already have a bumper car that goes in the space one of these days
