Did Pure Oil Company have a pump plate or pump decal from the 30's. I have seen those dated 1954. Are they similar? Dave Jones

Dave , I recall decals , Pure , Pure-pep ethyl. There was a third grade , but I don't recall what it was as it wasn't in wide usage . Ed Shaver

In the 30's there were Pure, Purol, Purol Pep, Xcel... Late 30's Pure Pep Solvenized, Pure Solvenized, Purol Ethyl. Most of these decals are round by the way. If you are interested in learning about correct branding, you should get your hands on the Guide to Gas Pump Restoration. It is a valuable resource for this type of question. Darin

Hello Darin, I appreciate the info. I do have the book and researched it before posting. I have never heard of Pure Solvenized ? The guide does not show the decal in a large or clear enough frame. I have emailed T Graphics to see if he can help. I had a friend that had an old rural gas station and he sold Woco Pep. The station is still there but he is long gone. Dave
