I have seen globes from the Tide Water Oil Service up for auction. They seem to be mostly repops but, a couple that were said to be originals.

There are a number of fantasy clocks on ebay with this same image...

I don't think they were affiliated with Tide Water Oil Company, but I may be incorrect in that assumption.

I've seen a date of 1932-1940, not sure if this period of time was for the life of the Company or?

Tidewater Oil Service was an independent marketer based in Matthews County, VA that marketed under the Tiwoser brand in the 1930s. By the 1940s the brand was simply Tidewater and regular and premium pump signs (like yours, and it appears to be real) are known. Most of the items that are known were brought to light by a local antique dealer about 1974-75. Tidewater rebranded much of their operation Pure in 1952 and it survived to become a Union 76 jobber in 1970. By the 1980s they had phased a number of small stores back over to the brand Tidewater. I left the area in 1987 and haven't been back, but understand that Tidewater Oil sold out sometime in the late 1980s. They have no known ties to Tidewater Oil (Tydol & Flying A)
